What are dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers (sometimes called injectables) are injectable substances used to plump, fill, lift, and sculpt facial features. Often called a "facelift in a tube," dermal fillers can restore volume loss, increase collagen, and draw moisture to the treated area. 

Fillers can soften and improve the appearance of:

• Sagging
• Frown lines
• Depressed acne scars
• Smoker's lines
• Nasolabial folds (smile lines)
• Thin lips 

Are dermal fillers painful?

We provide topical and, if necessary, local anesthesia to our patients receiving filler injections to minimize pain and discomfort. Most patients require little to no downtime after their filler procedure.

How long do fillers last?

Depending on the injection type, filler injections can last approximately 8 months to 1 year.

Botox and Dysport Injections

Both Botox and Dysport reduce or even eliminate facial wrinkles and frown lines by paralyzing muscle movement underneath the skin. Each treatment takes minutes to perform, and should last approximately 3 to 4 months. Results can be seen in as little as 2-3 days, and wrinkles improve dramatically within 2 weeks after treatment.

Xeomin

Xeomin is an FDA-approved injectable used to temporarily improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows. Patients can expect to see results from Xeomin about 7 days after injection, with the effects lasting up to 6 months. Xeomin is a pure-form injectable, meaning it has no additives. Adverse reactions to Xeomin are quite rare due to the fact that it is additive-free. 

Juvederm Voluma XC

Juvederm Voluma XC is the most highly cross-linked (meaning it is thicker than other fillers). It can sculpt the entire face, and give a subtle lift for up to two years with optimal treatment.

It is designed to contour the face and restore lost volume to:

Kybella

Kybella is the only FDA approved injectable treatment for submental fullness, also known as the “double chin.” Kybella is made of deoxycholic acid, which destroys fat cells when injected. Your body then naturally processes and eliminates them from the body, which results in a noticeable reduction in fullness under the chin. Once these fat cells are destroyed and removed, they can no longer store or accumulate fat. Results are permanent and further treatment is not expected once you reach your desired esthetic goal.
